Valagjá er „um 5 km löng gjá austur af Valafelli. Bæði breið og djúp en frekar mjúk í laginu. Vegur sem liggur til norðurs af Dómadalsleið, hjá Valahnúkum, liggur upp á gjárbarminn“ (1). Valagjá er eitt besta dæmið um sprengigjá hér á landi (2).
