8-Day Summer Ring Route of Iceland with Snaefellsnes Peninsula

This 8-day tour takes you to the must see Golden Circle route with all its amazing sites. You will see the unbeatable Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and of course the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir National Park. Next you will be heading to the much talked about South Coast, where you will explore the unique black sand beach, Reynisfjara and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. After exploring the Eastfjords, Lake Mývatn awaits with its unique surroundings, you will explore Dimmuborgir lava pillars and then carry on the journey to the capital of the North, Akureyri. From there you will head to West Iceland and Snæfellsnes Peninsula and find some hidden gems and locations to experience, such as Kirkjufell mountain, lava pillars, a white beach and waterfalls. While you enjoy this versatile tour you will be able to book extra tours and activities along the way to make your experience even more special, such as horse riding, Vök baths and lava caving.

   Day 1 — The Golden Circle

   • Visit Thingvellir National Park
   • Visit Geysir Geothermal Area
   • Visit Gullfoss Waterfall

2. 2

   Day 2 — The South Coast and Ice Caving

   • Visit Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
   • Visit Skogafoss Waterfall
   • Visit Reynisfjara the Black Sand Beach
   • Enter a stunning ice cave, and be amazed by the breathtaking surroundings!
   • Visit the "island" of Dyrholaey

   Day 3 — The South-East & Glacier Hike

   • Visit the national park of Skaftafell and do a glacier hike on the largest glacier in Iceland
   • Visit Jokulsarlon the Glacier Lagoon and enjoy a boat ride among the icebergs.
   • Visit the Diamond Beach where the icebergs roll around on the black sand

   Day 4 — The Eastfjords

   • Visit the lake in the east
   • Go by the forest of the east
   • We will visit a famous outdoor art work by Sigurdur Gudmundsson. The Eggs in Gledivik.
   • Optional Horse back riding at Egilstadir, the biggest town in East of Iceland.
   • You can add the extra activity of Vok Bath hot spring, to soak in the warm waters and relax.

   Day 5 — The North-East of Iceland

   • Visit the most powerful waterfall in Iceland

   • Check out the amazing cliffs Lóndrangar
   • Visit the most photographed mountain in Iceland
   • Visit the waterfall with the amazing mountain views

   Day 8 — West Iceland

   • Visit the Geothermal area
