Private South Coast Adventure and Viking Story Night

A private afternoon on Iceland's South Coast and an evening at a Viking Story Night, just for your group. Your driver-guide picks you up at your Reykjavik accommodation around noon with a VAREN name tablet and helps with your bags. Walk behind Seljalandsfoss, step into the hidden canyon of Gljúfrabúi and feel the spray at Skógafoss. Follow an easy path to the edge of Sólheimajökull glacier, then see the basalt columns of Reynisfjara and the cliffs of Dyrhólaey. In the evening you arrive at Efri-Úlfsstaðir, a family horse farm on the land of Njál's Saga. Meet the Icelandic horses, then sit in a candlelit barn while a local storyteller brings the sagas to life. You taste fermented shark, dried fish, smoked lamb, Brennivín and Icelandic malt. It is a tasting, not a full dinner. Water on request. Choose a private sedan for 1-3 travellers or a private van for up to 8. One price per vehicle.

• You will receive a booking confirmation right after you book.
• Please count everyone in your group, including children and infants, as everyone needs their own seat.
• This tour is not available for cruise ship passengers, as the day is too long for a port call.
• The tour starts around noon. The Viking Story Night begins at 8 pm and lasts about 1.5 hours, so you are back in Reykjavik late in the evening.
• The Viking Story Night ticket is required and paid per person on top of the tour price. We reserve your seats.
• The Story Night includes a tasting of traditional Icelandic food and drink, not a full dinner. Please tell us about any dietary requirements or allergies.
• The tour involves easy walks on uneven paths that can be wet, muddy or icy, so it is not suitable for guests with serious mobility limitations.
• At Sólheimajökull we walk to the edge of the glacier and do not go onto the ice, so no glacier guide or special equipment is needed.
• At Reynisfjara, sneaker waves can run far up the beach without warning. Please stay well back from the water and follow your guide's advice.
• Please bring warm, waterproof clothes and waterproof shoes with good grip.
• Children of all ages are welcome. Parents or guardians look after their children during the tour.
