3-Day Private Golden Circle, South Coast & Diamond Beach Tour

This private 3-day tour combines Iceland’s Golden Circle, South Coast, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach in one flexible journey. Traveling over several days allows you to explore much more of South Iceland without rushing back to Reykjavík each evening. Travel with your own private driver-guide and vehicle, with time for scenic stops, photos and optional detours along the way. The itinerary can be adjusted to your interests, weather conditions and available time. Optional experiences such as geothermal lagoons, glacier lagoon boat tours, an ice cave tour or an ATV ride to the DC-3 plane wreck can also be added to make the trip more personal. Itinerary

1. 1

   Day 1 — Day 1 - Golden Circle

   • Explore one of Iceland’s most important historic and geological sites, located between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
   • Optional stop at a family-run Icelandic farm to enjoy locally made ice cream and experience the farm atmosphere.
   • Visit picturesque Brúarfoss, famous for its striking blue water flowing through dark volcanic rock.
   • See one of Iceland’s most powerful and famous waterfalls as the Hvítá River drops into a dramatic canyon.
   • Explore the geothermal area and watch Strokkur erupt every few minutes. Time is provided for a lunch break.
   • Optional visit to a geothermal greenhouse where tomatoes are grown year-round using Icelandic geothermal energy.
   • Visit the colorful Kerið volcanic crater, known for its red slopes and blue-green crater lake.

   Overnight in Hvolsvöllur or nearby. Accommodation is not included and must be booked separately.

2. 2

   Day 2 — Day 2 - South Coast

   • Visit a historic man-made cave built into the rock beneath the mountains of South Iceland.
   • Experience one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, with a powerful 60-meter drop.
   • Walk into a quiet canyon to discover Kvernufoss, a scenic waterfall hidden just outside Skógar.
   • Enjoy panoramic coastal views from Dyrhólaey. During summer, the area is also known for seasonal puffin sightings.
   • Explore the famous volcanic beach with basalt columns, powerful Atlantic waves and Reynisdrangar sea stacks.
   • Stop at Vík Church for panoramic views over the village and coastline, followed by time for lunch.
   • Optional scenic stop among the vast moss-covered lava fields created by one of Iceland’s historic volcanic eruptions.

   Overnight near Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Accommodation is not included and must be booked separately.

3. 3

   Day 3 — Day 3 - Glacier Lagoon & Return to Reykjavík

   • See floating icebergs beneath Vatnajökull at Iceland’s famous glacier lagoon.
   • Walk along the black sand shoreline where pieces of glacial ice wash ashore from Jökulsárlón.
   • Visit a dramatic winding canyon carved deep into the Icelandic landscape.
   • Stop in Vík for lunch during the return journey toward Reykjavík.
   • Visit one of Iceland’s most recognizable waterfalls. When conditions allow, you can walk behind the falling water.
   • Optional visit to a hidden waterfall inside a narrow canyon near Seljalandsfoss.
